==================
Eh my post feels very trivial coming after Lao Da's post on the all-important holiday homework list, but anyway...It's time to learn the German birthday song properly so we can sing it properly on subsequent birthdays! So here goes.
Zum Geburtstag viel Glück
Zum Geburtstag viel Glück
Zum Geburtstag liebe ____,
Zum Geburtstag viel Glück!
Basically it means "Happy birthday to you" x3 and "Happy birthday dear ____"
And now, the pronunciation guide!:
Zum: zoom
Geburtstag: "burt" should be pronounced as "boort" and "tag" is pronounced "t-ah-g" not "tag" in English
viel: veel/veal
Glück: okay this one is a bit hard it's not "glook"; the "ü" is pronounced like how you would pronounced "yu" in yu sheng
liebe: lee-ber
See only five words! Easy right :D So next birthday celebration we'll sing in English + Chinese + German and be the first trilingual class ok ;D
